Carre Confiture

This is the quickest and easiest recipe on this blog yet. A carre confiture, which simply means a pie filled with jam.


Ingredients:

  • 2 rolls of puff pastry

  • jam (flavor and amount of your choice)

  • 1 egg yolk

Preparation method:

First of all put some parchment paper into the baking tin.

Then roll the puff pastry open in a baking tin.

Add the amount of jam you like (1 jar for the entire pie is kinda sweet).

Roll open the second roll of puff pastry and cut strings from the puff pastry (see picture).


Place the puff pastry strings on the jam (in the baking tin).

Make sure all the edges are connected (see picture).

Fold the edges of the first layer of puff pastry inwards so that the cake is closed.

Cut the parchment paper to the edges of the baking tin to avoid burned paper.



Split an egg, use the egg yolks to make the pie shiny. Spread the egg yolk over the partial strands (see picture).

With the leftovers of the puff pastry and jam you can make some little pies or let the kids, in case you have kids, have fun with them and make their very own tiny pie (see picture).




Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius. Let the pie bake for about 25 minutes.
