Christmas Rice Krispies

This is the first Christmas themed recipe of Blogmas. And it's a very easy and quick one to make :). These are candy cane rice krispies. These are so delicious, you have to try them!


Ingredients:

  • 2 Candy canes (crunched)

  • 100 mini marshmallows (1 cup)

  • 1.5 cups of rice krispies

  • 0.75 tablespoons of butter



Preparation method:

First, you have to crunch the candy canes. What I did is break them into smaller pieces and put them in a bowl. Then I crushed them by pressing the small pieces in the bowl with the bottom of a glass.

Melt the butter, you can either do this in the microwave or a double-boiler, Whilst the butter is melting, add the marshmallows little by little so that they also melt. While the added marshmallows are melting, add in half off the crunched candy canes, let them melt as well and add some more marshmallows.

When everything is melted and you have a pinkish mix, stir in your rice krispies and mix it all together until it looks like the picture.



Put your cereal and marshmallow mix on baking paper in a baking tin of your choice so that it retains its shape.

Wait a few hours (about 2 hours) for it to harden.

To top it off, you can always sprinkle some more crunched candy canes over the treats.

Serve and enjoy!
