Ingredients:
1 roll of puff pastry
Dr Oetker (or an other brand) confectioner's cream (powder mix)
Figs, a lot of figs
Preparation method:
Preheat the oven at 200°C
Cover the baking tin with parchment paper and the puff pastry
Pierce a few holes in the puff pastry with a fork
Put another layer of parchment paper over the puff pastry with holes in it
Fill the baking tin with baked beans or coarse salt (extra weight)
Bake the puff pastry for 15 - 20 minutes
Take the baking tin with the puff pastry out of the oven
Remove the parchment paper and baking beans/ salt
Bake the puff pastry for 10 more minutes in the oven (without baking beans/ salt and extra parchment paper)
For the confectioner's cream I've used the Dr Oetker one to make it easier and quicker
So put the confectioner's cream powder in a bowl
Add 500 milliliters of milk
blend to a shiny/ glossy texture
Put in the fridge for 3 minutes
Mix again
By now, the puff pastry has been cooled down
You can add the confectioner's cream and spread this evenly over the pastry
When this is done rinse the figs and cut them into quarters/ slices
Decorate your pie with the figs the way you fancy
I didn't put figs all over the entire pie, but it is up to you and how you want it to look and taste
Put it in the fridge to stay steady
Cut into pieces and serve
