Within 2 days it's Halloween, these spider web Halloween cookies will definitely be worth the try for a party, kids etc.
Ingredients cookies:
140 grams of butter
100 grams of powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
200 grams of flour (I recommend using a little more)
Ingredients royal icing:
3 egg whites
4 cups of powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Food coloring
Preparation method (cookies):
Put the butter, sugar and vanilla in a big bowl.
Whisk it all into a creamy mixture.
Add the egg yolks and whisk well.
Stir the flour into it, mix well with your hands until a firm dough is formed.
Knead the dough into a thick disc, wrap it in plastic foil and put it in the fridge for about 2 hours.
Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius.
Roll the dough on a flower-sprayed worktop and stick out the shapes.
Bake the cookies for about 8 to 10 minutes, until the edge is golden brown.
Let them rest for 1 minute out the oven before you put them on the roster.
Preparation method (royal icing):
Whisk the egg whites, icing sugar and vanilla into a creamy/white mix.
For the spider webs, you'll need a certain color. I've chosen pink, so I added some red food coloring and mixed it to half of the icing.
Fill 2 piping bags with royal icing, one with the white icing, the other with the colored one.
Decorate the cookies.
